IF Function or If Statement in Excel

IF function or statement is a particular function that runs a given condition and display if the condition is met (True) or if it is not met (False). Follow the steps below to run a IF condition:

• Select the cell in which you want to create the "IF function"
• Type =IF and open a Parenthesis =if(


• Type the condition with comma: the cell name comes first then the operator (<, >, =)


• What should be displayed if the condition is met then followed by a comma. whenever you are using an alphabet always put it in a quote ("), numbers do not need quote


• After the comma type what should be displayed IF the condition is not met


• Close the Parenthesis you opened after the =IF and press enter to see your result
